Plant the Future: One Pen at a Time
When learning meets sustainability, every word becomes a seed of change.
At RAK.social, we believe the most powerful lessons don’t just happen in textbooks — they take root in real life. That’s why, in collaboration with our school partner CKE, we’ve launched a simple yet impactful initiative: Plantable Pens.
In a world facing environmental challenges, we want to help children not only grow their knowledge, but also their sense of responsibility toward the planet.
What We Do
We introduced eco-friendly plantable pens to classrooms at CKE — pens that don’t end up in the trash, but in the soil. Each pen comes with a biodegradable capsule containing seeds of herbs like basil, tulsi, or coriander.
Here’s how it works:
Students write with the pens until they run out of ink.
Then, they plant them in pots or gardens at home or school.
With care, the pens sprout into herbs — a living reminder of their learning journey.
Through hands-on experiences like these, children learn about sustainability, circular design, and their own power to impact the planet.
The Impact So Far
Hundreds of students are now using plantable pens daily.
Classrooms have turned into green corners with small pots and sprouting herbs.
One child shared, “Every time I water my plant, I remember to be kind to the earth.”
It’s more than a pen — it’s a mindset shift. One that sticks.
